Hello Sabbatical
Recently my position at my workplace was eliminated.
Honestly? It was the best worst news. What was destined to be a difficult decision—taking a year off to pursue my passions—was made for me, albeit slightly prematurely.
The next few weeks will undoubtedly be challenging as I adjust to no longer working with some of the best designers in the world. My first tasks will be understanding my budget and defining a work schedule. Later I will assess the logistics of launching my own business and determine the best publishing strategy for my next project. I’m not worried.
Ultimately I’m grateful and privileged to have this time to refocus my creativity on my self. I had just purchased a standing desk for my home workstation, so it will be a pleasure to be here every day. It’s quiet with few distractions, I choose the music, and there’s a cat! 😻
