S.E.A. v0.3.0

Today I gave players the ability to move:

  • implementing the movement controls
  • switching between normal and turbo movement modes
  • handling the turbo toggle setting
  • adding height to the surface waves
  • simulating gravity and friction when catching air
  • adjusting wind speed and direction on player movement

  • outlining some aspects of treasure generation
  • implementing the underwater movement model
  • implementing ascending and descending controls
  • switching between surface and underwater movement modes
  • improving the midwater zone gradient
  • allowing players to dive into and jump out of the water while maintaining momentum
  • adding transitional sounds and effects to crossing the surface

Tomorrow I plan to design the engine sounds and those that give feedback to players’ movements, like splashing and crashing against its waves.
